If you know the process to follow the effect is in fact very simple to create. There are some awesome examples of Small World\/Little Planet images on the internet. Catherine Nelson is an artist whose Little Planet images are incredible (I am not quite there yet).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.printwild.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/catherine.jpg\" alt=\"This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is catherine.jpg\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"caption-attachment-947\"><em>Work by Catherine Nelson. Amazing stuff. Google Stereographic Projection for more examples some are really incredible.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1. Start with a Panoramic.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is best to start with a simple panoramic landscape shot (I used a beach scene) for your Stereographic Projection. It is important that the left side of the image matches the right side ie. the horizon should be level with similar tones as these two edges come together in the final image. Using the<strong>\u00a0DISTORT filter<\/strong>\u00a0apply POLAR CO ORDINATES \u2013 Rectangular to Polar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"340\" height=\"349\" class=\"wp-image-353\" src=\"https:\/\/www.printwild.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/4.landscape_backdrop_applied_effect_eg.jpg\" alt=\"\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.printwild.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/4.landscape_backdrop_applied_effect_eg.jpg 340w, https:\/\/www.printwild.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/4.landscape_backdrop_applied_effect_eg-292x300.jpg 292w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 340px) 100vw, 340px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">4. The effect can be applied to any image but does create a lot of distortion around the edges which I was not too keen on. I therefore chose to\u00a0<strong>create the globe background first<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>added the people elements after<\/strong>. I deep etched \/ cut out each person from the original photographs and using LAYERS in Photoshop was able to reposition these accordingly to create the final image: Stereographic Projection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\u00a06.
