The Albatross
Our Albatross canvas print is mounted on a stable canvas frame and then framed with a Kiaat 23 mm Base Angled Frame profile which is 50mm high.
Kiaat is one of the best-known and valuable of all woods in south tropical Africa. The golden, or reddish-brown heartwood makes a high frame, glues and screws well and takes a fine polish. It shrinks very little and its high durability makes it particularly suitable for boat-building too. Locals consider it to be one of the best woods for canoe construction. It is also used to make dishes, mortars and drums. The heartwood is very durable and resistant to both borers and termites.
