Meet the People Behind the Prints
Tucked away in the heart of Ballito, our PrintWild studio hums with creativity, collaboration, and just the right amount of chaos. While our products often speak for themselves — beautiful, bespoke prints designed to bring your favourite memories to life — there’s a team of real people working behind the scenes to make sure every piece is perfect before it reaches your door.
From the moment you upload a photo to our site, there’s a pair of eyes carefully reviewing it, a mind considering the best edits, and a set of skilled hands preparing your print. We’re a small team, but a tight-knit one — each of us playing a crucial role in the process.
One of those key people is Carissa, our in-house photo editor, quality checker, client liaison, and resident snack enthusiast. Her days are a careful balance of technical skill and artistic intuition. She begins each morning with a warm hello to the team and a look through the job queue to prioritize the day’s tasks. From there, she moves between color correcting customer images, prepping files for print, and offering friendly support to clients who might need a bit of help finalizing their orders.
“I love watching a photo come to life through the editing process,” Carissa says. “It could be the smallest tweak, but suddenly it just clicks — and you know it’s ready to be turned into something beautiful.”
Her attention to detail doesn’t go unnoticed. Whether she’s reaching out to customers about low-res files, making subtle adjustments that elevate a photo from good to great, or ensuring that what goes to print is of the highest standard, she’s involved in every step of the journey. Carissa says she finds it hard to choose a favourite project because each photo tells a story, and she gets to be part of preserving that memory.
While her official title may be photo editor, Carissa is also the heart behind some of our best-loved products — like Tiny Tots and Magna Tots. “I’m a bit biased,” she admits with a laugh, “but those are my favourites. I’ve been around since the product idea was born, and I’ve seen it through from start to finish. Plus, since I’m on the shorter side, Tiny Tots became my unofficial PrintWild name!”
Of course, working at PrintWild has its quirks. On one memorable day, a monkey casually strolled into the studio, prompting chaos, shrieks, and one team member hilariously attempting to sacrifice Carissa in their panic. “It’s never dull here,” she jokes.
The studio itself is a creative haven — bright, welcoming, and filled with the smell of fresh wood from handcrafted frames and the soft whirr of high-quality printers. Whether it’s Analine, the newest member of our team and the friendly voice you’ll hear on the phone, or Paul, our visionary founder who is constantly dreaming up new ideas and chasing golden-hour light with his camera, every person adds something unique to the PrintWild magic.
It’s a place where chips are the unofficial office snack, creativity flows through every task, and collaboration is at the core of everything we do. Ask Carissa to sum up the team, and she’ll say: creative, supportive, dedicated.
