Shark Spotters turned the finalists from nearly 550 entries for their #MyCapeCoast Instagram competition into an art exhibition fundraiser at Primi Piatti Muizenberg on 22 November. There were some breathtaking images submitted that showed off their special part of the world from the Shark Spotters programme!

The Top 100 images were on sale as well as prints from top local photographers Alan van Gysen, Steve Benjamin, Sascha Specker and more. A copy of each print sold has been donated to a local children’s hospital to brighten up their patients ward. Isn’t that a fantastic idea? We thought so too, so we were delighted when Greg and Chelsea approached us to help get the competition images onto Faceblocks.

Shark Spotters is a pioneering shark safety programme that seeks to find a proactive solution to conflicts between sharks and people. Get in touch with Greg Bertish via Shark Spotters if you’re interested in any of the prints from the evening. info@sharkspotters.org.za, 078 174 4244 (Project Manager).
